What are the subjects covered in the secondary school admission exam?

The secondary school admission exams mainly target the fifth year of primary school subject since the exams take place at the beginning of the sixth year.

The multiple-choice assessment is frequently divided into four parts:

• MATHEMATICS

• LOGICAL SKILLS

• GENERAL CULTURE

Information about the test format

Regardless of the school chosen, the secondary school entrance exam remains relatively standardized. To ensure optimal and personalized preparation, you can ask the school to provide you with information about the test.

However, most exams are multiple choice (choice of answers).

Admission exam duration

The secondary school admission exam is approximately 3 hours long, with usually two 15-minute breaks given to candidates. Good preparation helps to increase self-confidence during the exam and therefore to answer the questions in the required time.

Make sure you get a good night's sleep and eat a balanced breakfast to improve your concentration to the max. Learning to manage stress is essential to passing the high school entrance exam. Stress is the enemy of memory. It is therefore important to focus on the things you have control over, such as pre-exam review and relaxation techniques for the day of the exam. Make sure you have the necessary school materials when taking the exam. Please note that the material may vary from one school to another. Be sure to check with the school for the instructions provided for the exam. You will not be entitled to any reference books or computer equipment during the exam except, in certain cases, if you have an intervention plan and there are indications to this effect.

For the exam, make sure you have the following items:

• A valid ID;
• Pens (preferably blue or black) and lead pencils to be able to answer the different sections of the exam;
• An eraser;
• A highlighter and a concealer;
• A set of geometry;
• A watch;
• A water bottle;
• A small snack.

Finally, it's done! Since schools receive a large number of applications and only have a limited number of places available for new students, some students may be refused admission.

If you receive a refusal, it does not mean that you are not a good student. It just indicates that there are aspects you can still work on. You can revise during your first year of high school and try to retake the entrance exam in second year. In addition to having learned by doing your review v You will gain experience as well.
